Sandy Beach and the Deckchairs party band – Saturday 3rd October 2026

Come and join us at Long Bennington Village Hall for the live music event of party band Sandy Beach and the Deckchairs featuring music of the 60s, 70s and 80s, arranged by Long Bennington Twinning Association.

After the huge success of the band at The Party in the Park we are delighted to welcome them back to the village.

Back To The Land Girls – Saturday 17th October 2026

One of Badapple’s best-loved classic shows is back after 15 years! With beautiful songs from Sony Award Winning songwriter, and BBC Radio 4 host, Jez Lowe. Join Buff and Biddy in this heart-warming comedy set to a 1940s soundtrack. It is an uplifting journey of blisters, back-ache and banter.

This heart-warming theatre piece was inspired by interviews with a number of incredible women from Yorkshire who worked on the land during WW2. Their comic and poignant stories led Kate Bramley to create the journey of Buff and Biddy, who arrive in the countryside not knowing one end of a cow from the other. Buff, the confident Scouser who dreams of being just like Vera Lynn, is billeted with Biddy, a country girl who thinks she is ‘nowt’, but between them they are turning heads and breaking hearts.

Their camaraderie and friendship sustain them on a journey of back-breaking work but delightful independence, of dreams of fame and romance and always the hope that the end of the war is just around the corner.

Badapple’s performances are joyous and uplifting, performed for audiences of all ages.
